Kit Check Hosts Second Diversion Symposium to Elevate the National Conversation Around the Importance of Drug Diversion Prevention

The symposium brings together healthcare leaders across clinical disciplines to discuss how COVID-19 has affected drug diversion in the hospital space

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On April 27, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET, Kit Check, the industry leader in Medication Intelligence™ solution for hospitals, will host its second Diversion Symposium. This continuing education event for pharmacists, accredited for three credit hours by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), will feature healthcare leaders across a diverse clinical background and their experience with preventing drug diversion in their institutions.


The symposium features presenters from the pharmacy and nursing departments of leading health systems including Jefferson Hospital of Allegheny Health Network, UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Alise Elayne Hadley, Pharm.D., is the Director of Pharmaceutical Services at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and will explore the challenges and benefits of instituting a cross-department diversion prevention program with pharmacy and nursing. Sandee Seeley, RN, MSN, RN-BC, is a nurse manager at Jefferson Hospital and will walk attendees through the nursing perspective on diversion and benefits of a prominent nursing role in a controlled substance diversion program and committee. Cathy Richwine, RPh, BCSCP, is a Clinical Pharmacist and Catherine Floroff, PharmD, BCCCP, BCPS, is the Team Coordinator in Pharmacy at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. They will explore lessons learned from using various diversion monitoring technology in efforts to minimize organizational risk.
