Creative Diagnostics Launches Novel Gold Nanostars for SERS-based Lateral Flow Immunoassay
With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics has launched a series of novel SpecNano™ gold nanostars for SERS-based lateral flow immunoassay, which are available from 50nm to 100nm, and are precisely engineered surface for easy conjugation in high conjugation efficiency, with superior size distribution (CV<12%).
SpecNano™ gold nanostars are one of the most important components of Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) tags, that have unique characteristics, including multi-arms and surface roughness features allowing high SERS performance in the system to be achieved via the increased bioconjugation sites and hot spot regions. SERS has been developed in order to decrease the detection limit and enable the qualitative and quantitative analysis of analytes. In the assay, SERS tags needed new readout systems and signal processing algorithms, while the LFIA design remained unchanged, and a portable strip reader recording the color intensity of the band was used for quantitative analysis.
Creative Diagnostics now offers a full product line of SpecNano™ gold nanostars (AuNS) for use in SERS-based Lateral Flow Immunoassay, such as Citric acid Gold Nanostars, Maleimide-Activated Gold Nanostars, NHS-Activated Gold Nanostars, Carboxyl Gold Nanostars, Biotin Gold Nanostars, Methyl Gold Nanostars, Anti-Human Conjugated Gold Nanostars, Anti-Rabbit Conjugated Gold Nanostars, Streptavidin Conjugated Gold Nanostars, Protein A Conjugated Gold Nanostars, Protein G Conjugated Gold Nanostars, and Transferrin Conjugated Gold Nanostars.
SpecNano™ Biotin Conjugated Gold Nanostars, 100 nm(CGSB-100), for example, the 50 OD biotin gold nanostars, with 100 nm diameter, absorbance max 680 nm, are monodispersed gold nanostars conjugated with biotin molecules and have a narrow size distribution (<10%). There is a PEG (10 kDa) spacer-SH between the gold surface and biotin molecules. These nanostars are suitable for binding of streptavidin labeled conjugates.
Another example for Transferrin Conjugated Gold Nanostars, the SpecNano™ Protein A Conjugated Gold Nanostars, 100 nm, 10 OD(CGSA-ProA-100-10), are monodispersed gold nanostars conjugated with protein A and have a narrow size distribution (<12%). These nanostars can be used as antibody probes in assays such as lateral flow, immunoblotting, ELISA, light microscopy and electron microscopy applications, and can also be used for capturing of antibody species with affinity for protein A to the gold nanostars surface.
