Monosubstituted Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids Newly Released at Alfa Chemistry

In a recent statement, Alfa Chemistry announced the release of monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids, another new product line added to its already comprehensively ranged offerings, covering materials, APIs, reagents, functional polymers, stabilizer additives, lipids, semiconductors and many more.

Ionic liquid refers to a salt composed of ions that is liquid at room temperature or low temperature. Imidazolium-based ionic liquids is one type of ionic liquids that is widely used in chemical reactions, electrochemistry, and separation processes. There are monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids, disubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids and trisubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids.

“Though not applied as widely as other midazolium-based ionic liquids, monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids also have an irreplaceable position in organic synthesis, separation and purification and electrochemical fields due to their unique molecular architecture and properties,” says one of the senior scientists from Alfa Chemistry. “Via years of efforts, we are now able to help developers solve the challenges of ionic liquids in various applications. We believe that partnerships will change the way the world innovates and bring new technologies at an accelerated pace.”

At Alfa Chemistry, hundreds of monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids are now available, either to help facilitate relevant research or to support manufacturing projects. Below are just some of them:

n-methylimidazolium chloride, n-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate, n-methylimidazolium nitrate, n-methylimidazolium dihydrogen phosphate, n-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, n-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate,  n-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate, n-methylimidazolium tosylate, n-ethylimidazolium chloride, n-ethylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate, n-ethylimidazolium nitrate, n-ethylimidazolium dihydrogen phosphate, n-ethylimidazolium trifluoroacetate, n-butylimidazolium chloride, n-decylimidazolium chloride, n-decylimidazolium tosylate and more.

In addition to monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids, Alfa Chemistry also supplies many other types of ionic liquids, such as ammonium-based ionic liquids, chiral ionic liquids, dabco-based ionic liquids, fluorescent ionic liquids, functionalized ionic liquids, guanidine-based ionic liquids, magnetic ionic liquids, etc. Please visit https://ionicliquids.alfa-chemistry.com/products.html to learn more or just email us in case of any questions.

About Application Prospects of Monosubstituted Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids

Only containing functional groups like alkyl groups in most cases, monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids can be used as an excellent electrolyte for electricity. As they are able to make two-phase immiscible systems mutually dissolve into a homogeneous reaction, monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids are also employed as auxiliaries and catalysts in chemical synthesis, such as reduction reactions, oxidation reactions, Friedel-Crafts reactions and cross-coupling reactions, to increase the reaction speed, shorten the reaction time and increase the reaction yield. Meanwhile, monosubstituted imidazolium-based ionic liquids also find applications in separation and purification.
