Diaverum expands in Chile with three new clinics in the Valparaíso region
Diaverum has completed the acquisition of three new clinics located in the Valparaíso region in central Chile. This expansion strengthens the organisation’s national growth strategy by broadening access to high-quality renal care in one of the country’s key economic hubs, renowned for its healthcare, tourism, and education sectors.
Through the acquisition of these clinics, Diaverum will expand its presence across two major urban centres – Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Together, these cities have a combined population of approximately 700,000 inhabitants. Diaverum will provide outpatient haemodialysis services to more than 400 chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients in the area.
The clinics are currently operated by three renowned nephrologists with a strong reputation for providing quality renal care and perform approximately 60,400 haemodialysis treatments annually. Built on such a solid foundation, the clinics are already recognised for their high standards of care and thus well-positioned to integrate seamlessly into Diaverum’s global clinical ecosystem. Patients in the Valparaíso region are set to benefit from Diaverum’s advanced therapies, digital services, and proprietary Care Delivery Model, which ensures standardised, patient-centred treatment with real-time clinical oversight across its network.
Dr Vivian Ayca, Medical Director of Diaverum Chile, said: “Expanding our capacity in Chile is part of our mission, but our true focus remains on enhancing the continuity and quality of care for every patient. By integrating these new clinics into our network, we will implement Diaverum’s standardised medical protocols, continuous training programs, and digital tools, so our team of medical experts can support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of patients in the region.”
Pablo Iñones, Country Manager of Diaverum Chile, affirmed: “The Valparaíso region is a thriving regional hub with growing demand for specialised healthcare. The acquisition of these clinics allows us to expand our presence in central Chile through mature and well-managed clinics with a strong track record of quality care, which share Diaverum’s values: patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and a commitment to innovation.”
Rafael Romanini, CEO of Diaverum, concluded: “This acquisition strengthens our position in a key region of Chile, advancing Diaverum’s mission of delivering high-quality, life-enhancing care in every community we serve. Our holistic approach, rooted in clinical excellence and supported by our digital infrastructure and innovative solutions, will enable us to deliver world-class, personalised care to more patients in need.”
With this expansion, Diaverum will reach a total of 22 clinics in Chile, treating more than 2,400 patients through a dedicated team of more than 150 healthcare professionals. This steady growth reflects the company’s commitment to the continuous improvement of care for people living with CKD.
CKD affects approximately 15.4% of Chilean adults aged 40 and over. As demand rises, Chile’s public healthcare system collaborates with expert providers such as Diaverum through long-term partnerships, ensuring equitable access to high-quality renal care while fostering sustainability and innovation.
