Healthcare Leaders, Peers and Industry Experts Share Challenges and Spark Collaborative Solutions at HealthTrust Connect

Local Gathering of Healthcare Construction, Facilities and Energy Professionals

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HealthTrust Performance GroupSM, a leading performance improvement organization with an exclusive membership of 1,800+ hospitals and 85,000+ non-acute sites of care, held its annual HealthTrust Connect conference in Nashville, TN, on November 3, 2025. The event brought together 400+ industry experts, members, project teams, trade partners and facility managers to collaborate and explore real-world applications for products and services.

“True to the conference namesake, connection was more important than ever,” said Kim Allen, Vice President, Commercial Strategic Sourcing. “With a focus to strengthen the construction supply chain, it’s critical to form cross-facility relationships and streamline procurement and communications to drive success in 2026 and beyond. We are excited to make these connections and learnings possible.”

Attendees gained insights from expert-led education sessions on water treatment for the processing of medical devices and strategic risk mitigation for healthcare disaster preparedness and restoration, plus a keynote by Dr. Katherine Jeffery who explored generational dynamics in the workforce.

Key Takeaways include:

  • Healthcare facilities should adopt a new standard of defining water quality parameters aimed at enhancing patient care. In the morning session, a group of panelists (moderated by HealthTrust’s Jennifer Westendorf, AVP, Environmental Performance & Surgical Services) introduced this new approach from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation’s (AAMI) ST108.
  • With five generations in the workplace, the same message can have different meanings. In the keynote session, Katherine Jeffery, PhD, spoke on the phenomenon of the multigenerational workforce. Better communications can occur by knowing how each of the five current generations speaks, acts and thinks in the workplace. It is critical to break down boundaries and increase workflow.
  • How to best understand risk factors, prepare appropriately and mobilize in the face of unanticipated complications are necessary for a healthcare facility’s risk teams. Experts from disaster planning and preparedness sectors, led by Chris Talbert, SVP for Regional High Performance Buildings at WSP, presented concepts for Strategic Risk Mitigation for Healthcare.

Fifty-eight vendors set up at an exhibit hall displaying product offerings to showcase innovations in water solutions, furniture, electrical engineering, energy efficiency and more. Watch highlights from the event here.
