New England Society for Biomedical Research Announces Refreshed Brand and Renewed Energy
Marking a New Era of Region-Wide Scientific Education and Public Outreach
NORTH CHELMSFORD, MASSACHUSETTS — January 12, 2026 — New England Society for Biomedical Research (NESBR), formerly Massachusetts Society for Medical Research and the nation’s oldest regional nonprofit dedicated to supporting ethical biomedical research, is excited to announce a refreshed brand and expansion of scope. The mission has not changed but the new look and feel will provide full inclusivity of all of its member organizations, stakeholders, and the wider community looking for information on the ethical and responsible use of animals to drive medical innovation forward.
In addition to its core mission, NESBR plans to increase biomedical literacy through expanded learning opportunities and access to educational content. NESBR is elevating long-standing work in public outreach, emphasizing the necessity of humane research in advancing human and animal health.
“This rebrand is more than an update, it’s renewed energy,” said Dr. Aimee Christian, NESBR President. “We are strengthening our efforts to region-wide education, encouraging honest conversations about how biomedical research, including responsible animal use, saves lives every day.”
Despite these major visual and structural changes, NESBR’s core mission remains unchanged: advocating for and educating on the importance of the responsible and humane use of animals in biomedical research to drive medical innovation forward.
