Durbin PLC becomes Uniphar, bolstering medicine access amidst growing healthcare demands
New rebrand unites UK operations under Uniphar’s global sourcing network, expanding reach and resilience in healthcare supply
[Dublin, Ireland 6th May 2026] Durbin PLC, a leading global provider of pharmaceutical products and services, today announced it has officially rebranded as Uniphar, fully aligning with Uniphar | Global Sourcing.
Against the backdrop of widespread medicine shortages[1], Durbin PLC’s rebrand to Uniphar and integration into Uniphar | Global Sourcing represents a strategic move to address industry-wide challenges, expanding its sourcing and supply capabilities and strengthening its ability to respond to both local and international healthcare demands.
Established services delivered under the Durbin PLC name, including Aid & Development, International Sales, Pharmaceutical Services and Women’s Health will now be supported by Uniphar’s global network, combining local expertise with international scale to support the UK healthcare sector, including the NHS, while meeting global demand.
“In a market increasingly challenged by medicine shortages and intensifying supply chain pressures, trading as Uniphar and joining Uniphar | Global Sourcing gives us the scale, agility and reach to source critical products quickly and reliably, ensuring the right medicines reach patients at the right time,” said Simon Hayes, UK Managing Director of Uniphar | Global Sourcing.
Durbin PLC’s transition to Uniphar and integration into Uniphar | Global Sourcing alongside several established brands including BModesto, BMclinical, BMmedical, Doncaster Pharma, SynCo Pharma, Uniphar Clinical, Durbin UK, Durbin PTSI US, Pharmasource, Ostomysource and Orspec Pharma.
“By integrating ten global companies into Uniphar | Global Sourcing, we’re well positioned to support organisations like the NHS and meet demand for essential medicines,” said Dermot Ryan, Chief Operating Officer of Uniphar Group. “This transition demonstrates our commitment to building an integrated global sourcing business, strengthening our identity and enhancing the value we deliver to the UK healthcare sector and worldwide.”
Central to this capability is Uniphar’s new strategically located, purpose-built pharmaceutical distribution hub at Dove Valley Park in Derbyshire, designed to support clinical-to-commercial supply chains across the UK. Situated within the Midlands’ Golden Logistics Triangle, the site offers direct access to the A50 and East Midlands Airport, enabling rapid nationwide reach within four hours of 90% of the UK population.
Spanning approximately 113,000 sq. ft, the facility provides scalable capacity supported by enhanced cold-chain infrastructure, ambient and chilled storage, controlled drugs vaults and GDP-aligned operations. This infrastructure underpins Uniphar’s ability to deliver secure, efficient and compliant distribution, ensuring product integrity and continuity of supply for customers and patients.
